Vol 3, Page 1 – Leaping Into Action
Welcome back, dear reader!
Our next wild adventure begins here, with a leap of faith on a cold winter night. I sure hope Jane sticks the landing, otherwise she’ll never hear the end of it from Sir Ezra Tyree, the ghost with the most beards.
Can’t wait for the next page?

Production Notes
This volume is 100% digital. The previous pages started out as ink lines on paper, which were scanned and colored in the computer. This page and all that follow are completely computer generated. I’ve also been practicing my art all summer, too.
After drawing and erasing Jane’s gyrocopter a couple of times I ended up modeling it in Sketchup.
Oh, man. I’m so excited about this. Jane going full Batman, with hands down the coolest superhero costume I’ve ever seen. Your design and style are simply unbeatable, Andy. The wait has been long, but I’d bet the farm and all the animals that this chapter is going to be spectacular.
😀 I’m glad you’re back for more! We’ll see if I can keep up with the 2 pages per week schedule. I think you’ll appreciate the next few exciting pages.
welcome back. if jane doesn’t stick the landing, it looks like the gyrocopter certainly can. i love the costume. military, formal, birdy with a touch of plague doctor. deliberately not an anubis mask? the fastwalker stilts are an interesting choice. i love the action poses and the speedline snow in the last panel. beautiful art. great camera angles. you certainly can’t blame jane for not wanting to work with the police. i can’t wait to find out why she is playing superhero.
Jane wants nothing to do with Anubis’ “stupid vengeance crusade. That’s one leaky dirigible sailing towards calamity.” 😉 The jumping stilts are a callout to Spring-heeled Jack, or what I imagine a Victorian Batman would be like.
Not the plumage nor the bill of an ibis as I would have thought. The bill does resemble that of an albatross, but the plumage is more that of the common buzzard (as is that bill). All in all, rather unsettling. O.o
What is not unsettling, is your eagerly awaited return, Andy, hail, and well-met indeed. ^^
The all digital nature of the new look is quite similar to the old look, so your intensive practice has apparently paid off. 🙂
As much as I’d like to claim otherwise and take credit for well researched references, may design choices in these stories can be attributed to “because it looked cool.” 😀 Although, in this case part of her costume (the jacket and feathered hood) are from Jane’s old flight suit.
Good choice of mask!
Thank you!
Man, my favorite comics are back with a blast! The art is superb, Andy, from the extreme shots to the outfit design! Let’s see how well does Jane handles heroics, my Girls might get jealous!
The M9 team might be a bit more capable at this superhero business than Jane. You had them doing a training montage and everything. As usual, Jane goes and jumps right in. 😀
It’s like Rube Goldberg tried to make his own Tardis. Awesome.
Best decision I ever made with this comic: “Who cares if any of these machines would really work.”
Considering the last time she partnered with the city police, it resulted in said officer sleeping with the fishes, she might have the right idea here.
