Page 1 – Somewhere in the 22nd Century
Welcome to my very first web comic, “I, Mummy,” or “I was a teenage mummy in the 22nd century.” A tale from the future. A future based on prognostications (and postcards) from the 1800s, where everyone can fly but there’s no wi-fi.
New pages every Mummday & Thursday.
Our story begins with Jane and JC skipping school. What could possibly be more fun than a flying school bus? Forge ahead dear reader, if you dare.
Great fun Andy.
All comics should have a bi-planar-helo-ornothopter-bus in them.
Right out, I wanna say how much I like your design in your pages… It’s very bronze age like back in the old superman comics, but your style is newer and fresh! It works VERY well!
Cool, that was the goal and it’s great to know it’s coming through. I have a copy of God and Science by Jamie Hernandez (of Love & Rockest fame) in my art bag that I use as inspiration, too.
The juxtaposition of “22nd century” with mid 20th century comic style and steampunk is quite intriguing 🙂
“Steal from the best and make up the rest.” My aim was to depict the future as seen from the 19th century, so no nano-bots or wireless communications.
Love, love, love this comic so far! You definitely have a golden age of comics style, reinforced by the “aging” of the pages. And the future view you’re going with is definitely worth exploring!
Excellent! I’m glad to hear the style hit’s the mark.
So, where can we get this comic. It is sooo cool.
Right here, free to read online. The first volume can also be purchased by print-on-demand here.
100 years from now
we will have shitty planes.
The past’s view of our future.
