Page 111 – Dying of Hysteria?
Queen Lila is so much fun. Originally, her character was supposed to be a bit dim witted and simple, but she’s having none of that. Sometimes characters take on a life of their own.
Can’t wait for the next page?
Vote for I, Mummy to see a preview!
Lewis comes through …. for a certain value of “comes through”. 🙂
😀 Lewis came though BIG time. (Hint: 2nd panel) A pair of major revelations coming up on the next page.
Isn’t it fun when the characters start writing the story?
Thank you Lewis, for coming to Jane’s rescue! I knew you wouldn’t let her down.
But wait-“No, Sir? Have you got yet another surprise up your sleeve, Andy?
Many many surprises as we near the story’s exciting climax. 🙂
More plot twists and action are just around the corner.
It seems to me that Lewis should be a sufficiently clever street urchin that she can pick-pocket with the best of ’em. The locket might have been a cool target, but I’m guessing keys.
Actually – I take it back. She’d have gone for the locket, if the choice came up.
😀 good point *knowing grin*
How unperceptive of me. I just noticed that the Empress addressed the Sheriff as “Mister”. Is this akin to a general addressing an erring sergeant as “Private”?
Yep, she’s annoyed and making sure he knows who’s boss.
when I was in the navy, the lieutenant commander in charge of my division found himself in a bit of trouble with the higher khakis. for a while, the captain took to referring to him over the 1mc (ship wide intercom) as an ensign.
The ideal of the court as the place where truths come to light is supported here, at least in one instant.
It’s Law & Order: Steampunk City
In the royal justice system, the peasants are represented by two separate and unequal groups: the police, who investigate crime and the queen, who’s word is law. These are their stories.
Lewis there! Now let’s see if she has her usual street wits with her.
She’s already one step ahead of everyone else. *wink*
Not sure she quite believes this little tale of theirs, but it looks like she’s willing to humor them enough that Jane just might get her necklace back.
M-maybe.
Maybe. Or maybe something important happened in the 2nd panel. 😉
Like maybe Lewis picked a pocket or two and slipped some jewelry to Jane?
You know it. She must have overheard mom and Jane earlier. 😀
