Page 125 – Dangerous
Fire extinguisher bombs and grenades were a real thing. Unfortunately the contents were toxic and you’d be screwed if you missed. Still, the wall mounted catapult that would fling the orb if the wall caught fire is a nifty idea. The images below link to larger versions.
wish I’d saved the link. There is now a “Dry Chemical” version of this that you throw…all the demonstrations I’ve seen were in I “think” indian. But don’t quote me on that. 🙂
I did see a video of something similar, it was either Japanese or Korean.
Hmmm…with the way she is looking at that sword, I suspect a knighting may be in the immediate future.
Also, my grandparents had 2 of those fire extinguisher bombs shown in the color picture. They were mounted on the stairway leading to the basement. I’m not sure what was in them, but they had a clear fluid that looked like water, and the glass was painted red except for the “stem” portion.
I’ve never seen them anywhere else.
A knighting would be preferable to an execution. 😉
Before researching this page, I’d never seen these extinguisher grenades either. But, they seem to have still been around in older houses and schools through most of last century. A less toxic version is still available here http://www.bonex-asean.com
Heh, we had those fire extinguishers in the grade school I attended lo, these many years ago. 🙂
Jane’s recent experiences must have been harrowing to her indeed if she needed a few moments to gather her wits in in order to answer the Queen. O.o
That’s neat, Delta-V. I’d never even heard of them before looking up alternate fire extinguishers, but they seem to have been very popular up until 50 years ago. I do wonder how well the spring loaded launchers rally worked.
Jane needed a moment to recover from her divine multiple-personality disorder.
I reserve the right to not make any knee-jerk assumptions until I see the next page. Knowing you, we’re gonna have another curveball thrown at us.
It’s probably not too hard to guess what’ll happen next, and it’s not a beheading. 🙂
I mean, even if that were the case, decapitation might not be as lethal as advertised where Jane is concerned.
