Oh no!
Original Script
Cut to Jane’s bedroom. She’s standing at her window looking down, watching the Madame and her assistant in the driveway, next to Madame’s waiting taxi. The old woman and boy are arguing. JANE Ha, even her own… GHOST Jane. Where is the key?! JANE What? GHOST Your necklace. Where is it? JANE Looks down her shirt It’s right … hmm. Oh. Must have fallen off. GHOST As I feared. I no longer sense it in this house. JANE What?! Where could it… Looks out the window to an empty street. Oh! No she didn’t!

What you don’t know is they’re actually fighting over the car keys. She may not look it, but she’s a lightweight and one little glass of wine’s got her absolutely plastered. Somebody’s gotta be the designated driver tonight.
All joking aside, though, I love the light and shadow effects on this page, especially in panel one.
Well, someone had to drink the spirit offering. (hic) The ghost sure didn’t seem to want it. 🙂
Thank you, I’m pleased with how this page turned out. Nighttime silhouettes are scary to do in ink.
They really are. All that solid black.
Glass effects are even harder (I think). And you pulled it off beautifully with that window shot.
Hmmm…we haven’t seen that necklace since page 28! When Madame Lightfingers had her hand on Jane’s shoulder…
So, has Jane found another candidate for judgement? 🙂
Jane’s gotta catch her first.
i’m really impressed with the lighting and camera angles in this episode. i particularly like the first panel and the spot effect on the medium. i get a feeling of old crime magazine illustrations. in those panels in particular that really fits well.
so, is the kid trying to return the necklace or take it for himself. and what would happen if one of them puts it on?
Why thank you, Anatman. As the case with many arguments, those two are hotly debating the exchange of money for goods and services. For the silhouette scenes I pull out my Jaime Hernandez comics for reference.
Ah, geez. If I remember correctly, Sir Ezra painted a pretty grim picture of her future without the key. Can’t believe she got outplayed by someone dressed like a dusty attic that hasn’t been cleaned out in about a century.
Yeah, it’s bad. To quote Sir Ezra from that page, “You cannot die. However, you would gradually wither to an inanimate corpse. Neither quite dead nor alive.” Dun-dun-dun!
