Hey, look! JC is back, and he still likes hats. Hats give you something to hold when you’re feeling nervous. Or awkward. Or both. They also give you hat hair. Jane’s costume is based on this vintage 1902 dress. Yours for only $1,450.
Here’s a little behind the scenes screen grab. Because of my love/hate relationship with those stairs I ended up modeling them in SketchUp, a free 3D program. And then I just kept building out more and more of the Webb family house.
New page on Monday. Stay tuned, dear reader…
Brilliant 3D model, sir.
Thanks, Michael. It was a fun skill to learn, and I’ve used this model and my new-found skills several times since.
Really cool to see a layout of the house! I am envious of your modelling skills.
Oh JC, being an awkward teenager.
As part of the murder mystery, the layout of the house was important–the killer had to have a way to sneak in and out of the kitchen. Sketchup has a series of videos that really helped me learn the tool. It tricky at first, but great for nailing down tricky perspectives.
I did like dealing with characters at different ages. I’d love to do that again, if it fits the story.
