Busted! And, did you notice what the kid was about to pull on Jane before the cops showed up? This is bad.
That cop pointing the gun is a cameo of Shields McKloskey from the webcomic October 20th.
Original Script
GHOST You should withdrawal straightaway. Or face arrest yourself. JANE To the boy. The city guard is here to break up this illegal gathering. Will you help me or not? BOY Looks seriously worried. Uh, yeah. That way. As Jane grasps his wrist, he leads her through the crowd. They duck into an alley. They’re stopped by a heavily armed barricade. OFFICER Pointing with his sword Halt! Return to the square!
“Rabbit treason?” “Duck treason!” “Rabbit treason!” “Duck treason!”
Whoa yeah, Jane’s in the Dutch now. I don’t think any superpowers are gonna help her here.
Of course, they could just mean the black kid.
“You’re a celebrity, miss. Obviously you would never advocate anything so radical! Move along now, and don’t look back.”
“Platypus treason!” Never under estimate the power of entitlement. But, sass alone may not get her out of this pickle. More surprise twists on Monday!
Hi, I read with interest the article concerning your work in the Corvallis Gazette-Times today. I’m a former OSU grad student who is visiting the area for a few days. I’m also a teaching artist who provides instruction to children K-12 in schools, libraries, art museums, and other public venues. I’d be interested in meeting briefly with you to learn more about your work and your techniques. I will be teaching in the Colorado library system’s summer reading program this year: Every Super Hero Has a Story. Please contact me if you have time to meet. Sincerely, DP Benjamin
You bet!
Hey, I know that guy! Of course he’d find his way into the city guard. “If you’re not cop, you’re little people.” He would take that to heart. Thanks so much for the cameo. It makes me ridiculously happy. And you’re once again showing your design genious side on this page. The rifles are stellar. 🙂
Knowing that you like their guns is high praise indeed! I don’t know why I put a crank on their 6-shot rifles or what it does, but it made me smile. Shields appears in a few more panels on the next page, too.
Due process? What’s that?
As the old saying goes, “You can beat the rap, but you can’t beat the ride.” That is, the court may find you innocent later, but you’re still going in the paddy wagon now.
Why do I suspect he was planning to do…something with that knife behind his back?
What?! Just because he’s a pickpocket con-artist? 😉
That kid is quite an item, the little devil! I think Jane needs him on her side to get away from the guards!
