I’d hate to be in their shoes. Speaking of which, there are twelve cameos in those last two panels, both fans of the comic and some fictional characters. Such brave volunteers to sacrifice themselves for the cause. Can you spot them before it’s too late?
Angie Purviance
Ariane Eldar as herself
Bobbie Becker
Bret Juliano
Charleston Charge from Area 42
Charlie Wise author of Groovy, Kinda
Clau from M9 Girls!
Dave McQueen as the Steampunkinator
Jiro from Ruby Nation

Marius Hjelseth author of Oct. 20th
Sam Lambert with his truncheon.
Can’t wait for the next page?
Vote for I, Mummy to see a preview!
Original Script
They skirt around by a pitched battle between flying riot police and protesters throwing things and blocking the street with stretched wire.
Pretty fingers!
Ariane is probably right in the cross-hairs of whatever’s hovering above the crowd.
Pfffffffft, spank me, low-flying batman-bollock!
Wow, I’m honored! Thank you!
Be careful with that truncheon, you might put your eye out.
Thanks for reading!
That’s a great cameo of Marius in Panel 6, throwing the Norwegian Lutefisk Bomb!
And I’m guessing that that’s me in the last panel, right behind the woman expressing her numerical support for the authorities.
This is so cool, Andy! You’re the best.
Wait, no! I’m the guy holding his head in the last panel! Sorry, for a minute I thought you’d made a cameo of George Clooney. I get us mixed up all the time.
Yep, that’s supposed to be you. I was drawing a clown, but my hand slipped and turned you into a librarian. Who knew there was such a fine line between the two? 😀
Amazing how the two careers can overlap: http://groovykinda.org/comic/greasepaint-by-numbers/
Yeah, you of all people know how deadly lutefisk is. Takes no prisoners, leaves no survivors.
This is a fantastic page, Andy. Not only is it lousy with awesome comic creators. And Dave… But it’s so evocative and balls out. It’s a wonderfully illustrated uprising, and after what you said about crowds earlier, this is a great surprise. One of your best, I think. And that’s saying something.
Charleston looks so very sad.
He’s had a rough time, even in this universe.
I’m not gonna lie, when I saw the Groucho Marx glasses on the FB thumbnail, I thought it was actually going to be on the page. And I would have loved you for it. But, alas, I can only love you for the awesome cameos and crazy riot scene instead.
Aww, now I wish I’d thought to disguise the protesters. Groucho Marx glasses will be the anonymous Guy Fawkes masks of the future! Still, adding everyone in this scene and making them steampunk-ish made me smile.
Thanks for the cameo. Very character-appropriate cameo, for better or worse. Looking forward to where this larger riot goes…
Jiro translates quite well into stampunk, plus blue hair.
Camoes FTW!
I was like Mela, expecting to see the Groucho glasses here. Very nice cameos, Jiro looks nice as a saboteur! And Clau sports very nice Victorian clothes, Pato must have tipped her. I think she is rioting because she believes this is a “down with the finals” protest.
Clau is very upset after learning she’d be graded on a curve.
Down with the administration!
