Page 79 – Crater City Museum
The REAL irony here is that this is the same museum Jane’s class went to four years ago. The field trip Jane skipped to go to the amusement park, leading to her becoming a mummy.
Can’t wait for the next page?

*Sings* Ja-nie has a Boy-friend. ^^
Wait until he attempts to re-engage her in their former discourse, and finds her…. lacking.
Summer vacation helps one free the mind of useless facts and figures.
“I’m sorry, er, “Louis,” I was rather fibbing about the army. It’s just me, a scared old man all alone in a huge museum filled with-I say, please don’t take those.”
HA! That’s almost exactly what’s on the first panel of the next page. Well done.
Well, you’ve created such well-defined characters that it was easy to figure out what at least one of them would do in an undefended museum. Especially since the one most likely is halfway through the door.
Given the trouble Sir Tyree got her in with her family, I don’t blame her for immediately assuming the worst. And now that I think of it, why did he get her family mad at her to begin with? It doesn’t seem to have served either of them in any beneficial way. Granted, he couldn’t have known the medium would steal her necklace, but honestly, what good did he think would come from getting her in trouble with her family if he had the good sense not to get her in trouble with this guy?
Lady, you vex me. 🙂 In a good way, because I really appreciate that you take the time to poke at the plot and look for holes. Thank you for your constructive questioning, Detective Melaredblu.
To be honest, he bungled his haunting because it served the plot. Which is lame. I mean there are reasons behind each mistake he made, but I failed to mentioned these in the story. My bad habit of cutting too much sometimes.
He didn’t tell Jane what he was up to because he was feeling petty and finally could DO something. He didn’t consider what it would do to her emotionally. Sir Tyree threatened Jane’s little brother with a knife, which he was carrying at the time because that’s what young ladies traveling alone at night do, right? And, he yelled at the maid mainly because he was angry at his own lack of progress in researching the necklace. But, also because she’s trans and he’s old fashioned (which also didn’t make it into the story due to cuts).
And Jane knows how to curtsy! even when her blood is boiling at Sir Tyree’s manipulations.
Oddly, it was harder than I thought to find a good curtsy reference.
That’s my favorite panel.
