Page 83 – Konk!
That last panel is so satisfying. Only bad guys say, “Don’t make me hurt you.” Those two messed with the wrong mummy.
Unfortunately, the only non-evil medical person in the story got stabbed. Please don’t hate me. At this rate Jane is going to have severe Iatrophobia, if she can survive the next few pages.
Man, if all these medical people keep going evil and stabbing the only good med staff, how will anyone in this world get medical attention?! Thankfully, Jane’s mom woke up, so maybe she can escape?
It’s all an evil plot to replace the humans with robot doctors. Hehe, not really. Maybe.
Has technology progressed to the point where robot doctors have steady enough hands to be surgeons?
The first test images I made for this comic included a robot barber, but it never made it into the story. So, I could see a robot surgeon in this world. But, they’d be more like very complex windup machines for specific tasks, not thinking computers.
Great action sequence there. I love the cup to the head.
Yeah, they’re wiping out the med staff! What’s next, the phrenologists?
“Don’t make me hurt you, but if…” If what?
“If you don’t sit back and let me kill your mom, I’ll be forced to do violence.”
Here’s hoping her mom starts getting into “Momma Bear Protects Cub” mode soon.
Phrenologists, ha! Good one. Maybe I could knock off a few.
You mean, “bump” them off?
😛
If I were to start hating authors who kill off characters with abandon, I would be rather a hypocrite, now wouldn’t I?
(I was quite furious with author Laurell K. Hamilton over something she had her protagonist Anita Blake do, but I simmered down after a year or so and forgave her.)
Also, yay, teamug! 🙂
Grandfather: She doesn’t [die] at this time.
Grandson: What?
Grandfather: I’m explaining to you because you look nervous.
Grandson: I wasn’t nervous. Well, maybe I was a little bit concerned, but that’s not the same thing.
Grandfather: Because we can stop now if you want.
Grandson: No, you could read a little bit more, if you want.
— The Princess Bride
Now you’re making me really worried about Jane’s mother.
I hope this retro-future has progressed science and medicine enough to cure stab wounds….
They use band-aids made out of gears. 🙂
They’re also steam powered.
