Lewis taking liberties with the lady! So that’s why she hasn’t ditched Calamity Jane, Lewis has probably been crushing on her since the poop incident. But, I wonder what Lewis has in mind.
Can’t wait for the next page?
Vote for I, Mummy to see a preview!
I thought at first that Lewis was simply being comforting, and the next four panels could be construed as such as well, but it does seem a bit creepy (although the shadings of “creepy’ in a comic about the living dead are ephemeral, at best). 🙂
On the other hand, Lewis does pose an interesting query. I believe re-animation becomes more draining with time elapsed, but I may be in error.
Your first impression was correct. Lewis cares about Jane, or at the very least finds her interesting with a tinge of guilt for swiping her life source. She’s a sucker for hard luck cases, like the orphans she took in.
I’m surprised he didn’t managed to blush all that way through her bandages.
And Lewis, I’m guessing, has a specific target of resurrection in mind. Shame Jane’s not exactly at her best right now.
Gotta have a normally working circulatory system to blush. Ok, so I didn’t think to add color, and it would have been a funny visual.
Jane’s not one to turn down a good bad idea.
Guess Lewis doesn’t just like dressing like a boy!
How is jane going to take the “more than friendly” Lewis now?
You know, I’m still not sure how this relationship will work out. Jane is probably either bi or ace, or a little of both. But, I’m going with “wait and see” before anything becomes canon. 🙂
Okay, panel two, for the win. What a great Jane expression.
What’s your game, Lewis? Infatuation, or buttering up?
Because Lewis in that last panel has a “we could make some money with this” look…
I really like that panel, too.
This scene was tricky. On paper, Lewis kissed Jane on the mouth, but you know how characters have a mind of their own. After all Jane’s been through she would have applied violence upon Lewis for something so forward. Which would have put a damper on their adventures.
You’re gonna LOVE this next page. 😀
I think the kiss on the cheek works much better. It’s more ambiguous (friendly, or something more?), and it’s less “forward” then a mouth kiss. Plus, you see more of the faces.
And then Jane’s expressions-shock, wonder, thoughtful, then coy. She’s so sweet.
Jane seems to be taking Lewis’ romantic advance very well. She’s been raised in a culture that presumably considers exposed ankles scandalous, but after all she’s been through, I can see how she’d have a much more open mind.
And well they should, sir! And well they should.
No self-respecting lady would dream of exposing her buttery smooth, soft, delicately tinted, shapely slender ankles to the longing gaze of a stranger, than a gentleman would leave a button unfastened on his spats!
Why, the very idea!
Sincerely,
