Page 9 – Jane!
Ahhh!
Original Script
DAD Reaches for his wife. Look out! A nearby airship crashes into the Webb’s vehicle. The people are thrown about but saved by their safety belts. Jane trips over the telescope, flails her arms to keep her balance at the edge, but… The wing of another craft swings by like a giant bat and knocks her into the sky. MOM & GHOST Jane! Jane!
Oh man, what a great action page!
Jane!
I love that her spirit pal is yelling too.
That’s a long way down, kiddo. I sure hope there’s another dirigible underneath her!
It is a VERY long way down, but you’re gonna love the next page. 🙂
I hadn’t noticed the safety lines on the previous pages, but it’s a nice extra touch. Bit of a bummer if the airship actually SINKS though… And why wasn’t Jane equipped with one? Oversight or just her stubbornness?
I’m glad you started a Book 2 – I was a little depressed when you ended Book 1 with “and here ends “I, Mummy” and thought you were done with the comic completely.
(I know it’s Jane yelling, but it looks like her amulet is screaming in the last panel – it made me grin.)
A free spirit like Jane doesn’t like to be tied down by annoying safety straps. Unfortunately.
If you liked the previous book I think you’ll really like this story.
i bet jane wishes she hadn’t removed her wrappings. those bandages might have come in real handy. quick work on that line. details like that really flesh out a world.
Yeah, bandages would be useful right now.
She could them as a whip or quickly weave a parachute.
Okay, didn’t see that one coming. I was tempted to ask if she would float, but if she were dried out enough for that, she’d break when she tried to move, so, no.
Well-thought-out action. I especially liked Robit’s leg turning under him, showing just how off-balance he was. 🙂
Thanks, DV. Its a LONG way down, anything could happen.
Nooooooooo! Just when she took the bandages off! Will the disembodied voice in the necklace save her? Or Harriet?
The chaos continues! And it is action packed! I hope everyone gets out of this okay.
Suddenly Harriet leads a massive cloud of chickadees which swoops down at the last moment and carry Jane to safety. Or not.
Is…is it horrible that I imagine a ’20s-style narrator coming on to say “How will Jane get out of this one? Will she stick the landing, or land in trouble? Find out next time on The Spectacular I, Mummy Serial Program!”
Hehe, that’s what’s in my head every time I post a page and try to think of something to say about it. Can I hire you to write them for me?
I can’t say for sure that my answer would be no…
Oh, but then you’d see what’s coming next before everyone else. And that wouldn’t be fair. Nevermind.
