An interesting turn of events. I had been musing upon the likelihood of Jane having enough energy to revive Lewis.
This does pose the rather humorous possibility of Undersheriff Wrenn capturing and triumphantly presenting to Sheriff Nickenberry–a corpse. 🙂
Hmm, interesting theory. Okay, I WISH I’d thought of that. 😀 But things are about to take a slightly different path. Stay tuned for another big reveal on Monday.
“Let’s just skip the judging part and cut to the chase. I know you took cookies out of the cookie jar after they said no, because you’d spoil your dinner, so if you find the necklace and give it back, we’ll call it even.”
“But the cookies turned out to be oatmeal raisin!”
“…fine. I’ll owe you a solid when I can walk again. NOW RISE!”
“Oatmeal raisin”? Is that a Borderlands 2 reference, or simply fortuitous personal preference?

Gah, one of the dangers of webcomicing is you guys keep coming up with more interesting ideas than me. Oh well, I think you’ll still like what’s coming up. Well, perhaps not “like” like, but you will be entertained (evil laugh).
The main problem with reader-generated ideas is that they rarely fit the plot the author has chosen, and might even change the story catastrophically.
Heck, authors even do it to themselves. Science fiction author Isaac Asimov once lamented that the choices he made writing the first book of his “Foundation” trilogy kept him from doing what he wanted to in the last.
Jane seems to be at her limit now, plus the constables are still behind her. I’m still worried about Lewis fate…
