wrenn has the oddest luck. her boss cuts off her hand, then she gets it replaced, but the replacement keeps her from getting a legitimate job. she turns to crime and is caught, but a fluke lets her escape. nonetheless, she gets caught again, then her captor takes off. she’s free to escape, but then zombies? cannibals? whatevers attack. she needs to have a talk with whoever passes out karma about mixed signals.
When you put it all out there like that, yeah the writer is kind of a jerk karma wise. 😀 I like her character, which is why she’s back. Unfortunately authors always hurt the ones they love.
I was wondering at first why Jane would sniff the air, then it hit me. Anubis has the head of a canine. Of course he would use scent to observe things.
Maybe she’s got the winter sniffles? 😉
No, you’re spot on. Anubis does the logical thing and investigates upwind. Which isn’t where the stinky critters be at. They’re right behind you!!!
Sorry that was a little unclear. When Jane’s eyes are glowing it’s Anubis taking over. He was the one judging all those people, but it wasn’t revealed until late in the previous book. Tyree has been behaving himself for awhile. As he said, ghosts can only possess those who can see them.

Well hello zombies! Wonder where these guys came from?
They do look like zombies. But they’re something else. 😀

It’s Keket’s sidekicks, Lampreyman and Sharky. 🙂
Running the metal hand down that monster’s throat should even the odds nicely…..
Two against one, and did you notice these things are running barefoot in the snow? Their pain tolerance is quite high. 😉
I was thinking in terms of tearing the creature’s carotid artery from the inside and letting it drown in it’s own blood–but that’s just me…….
Crater city is becoming weirder and weirder. Though times to choose the superhero career.
I really hope Wren survives, she can complain for some pages to follow.
Crater City is gonna get a lot weirder. 😀 The weird in this story goes up to 11.
So is that Jane smelling something suspicious, or Tyree? Who gets the olfactory content of the two?
