Vol 3, Page 12 – Just a Flesh Wound
Those poor guards. They weren’t in the original script, so who knows what part they’ll play in the adventures ahead. Return to this same locale next week for a very cute surprise.
Can’t wait for the next page?

I’m not quite sure, here. Does the occasional personal perforation count as a “Boo-Boo”, if the removal of an entire hand and part of a forearm is of no consequence?
I like your choice of dynamic panel sizing. I feel that it adds to the focus of the page, and thus to the payoff. 🙂
🙂 The guards don’t know much about her superpowers, and may not fully believe any stories they’ve heard. Jane sure is pushing her luck, and this was a wakeup call to her bodyguards. If she gets hurt, they’d be in deep doodoo. It won’t be so easy to give them the slip next time.
This page makes me wonder just how many people are aware of Jane’s double life. The royal guard seems like a good place for a secret like this to leak out…
At this point, only Lewis knows what she’s really been up to. Well, and Wrenn. The guards probably think she was out partying or some other royal brat shenanigans. After this you can be sure they’ll keep a closer eye on her 😀
I hate to do this, but…what’s up with the posing between panels 5 and 6? It seems like Lewis went from hugging her from behind to hugging her from the front. I suppose Jane could have turned around to face Lewis, but the sudden change in posing just struck me as odd. Of course the page still looks beautiful. I’m probably just being way too picky.
My intent was: Jane takes a drink then hugs Lewis back, but the tempo of the dialog just didn’t work as well as I’d liked. Oh well.
