Vol 3, Page 4 – Keket
Jane’s superhero alias is Keket, a reference to the Egyptian goddess of primordial darkness and chaos.
Does that gang leader look familiar?
Can’t wait for the next page?

Production Notes
Here’s a work-in-progress capture of the first panel. The warehouse and Jane are 3D models. The birds are reference photos. I trace them in blueline to get the proportions right. The blue layer is blown up 200% for print quality and then I do a 2nd sketch in red line to nail down important details (not shown).
Finally, the black ink you see in the comic above is drawn over all of that. Whew! And then the coloring and rendering begins. Weeeeee!
At least with digital art there’s always Undo.
The gang leader DOES look familiar. I’d say she’s gotten a bit of a demotion since the new management moved into the castle, given the company she now keeps. Although I get the impression she’s right at home with this lot. She was always a thug, even when she had her badge. Still, it’s nice to see she’s not letting her handicap keep her back. 🙂
Luckily for Jane she’s shooting left handed now.
*Frantically checks the archive* Phew, she was right handed. I didn’t screw that up. 😀
I thought it was the pigeoun that said “That mosnter can read minds!” 🙂
Good job as usual!
I was worried about that after the page was done, but it’s funny so I left it in. 😀
I don’t expect either the bullet strike or the fall to affect her any more than previous episodes have. That being said, the distraction and the possible recovery time may well permit the miscreants to elude apprehension.
She really has to begin actually planning these missions instead of (heh) winging it.
Nice one 😀
Jane probably reads too many comic books. This isn’t fantasy!
Oh please tell me they were firing birdshot. Just think of the puntential!
Darn, wish I’d thought of that.
There’d be a lot more exploding pigeons, too. A lot more.
