Vol. 3, Page 43 – They Suspect Nothing
Dun-dun-dun!
I hope, dear readers, that this surprise was not too shocking and that your health is still in good order. Good, good.
Might this be a shared hallucination or something more sinister? Find out next Mummday. Until then, keep a close eye on any dogs in your vicinity. Especially the cute ones, they are not to be trusted.
Admittedly, my exposure to Steampunk could stand to be be both deeper and wider than it is, but I am having some difficulty placing talking animals amid it’s milieu.
That being said, now I am considering whether this is a dog with the facility to speak human words, or a human bodily shaped into the form of a dog.
Whichever it is (or even something totally unexpected) you have quite piqued my interest. 🙂
Check out Lives of the Monster Dogs by Kirsten Bakis. Not sure if it is strictly “Steampunk” but it has 19th Century aesthetic and scientific ideas super-imposed on modern technology.
Interesting, thanks for the book recommendation.
Come on, guys, give the little fellow some privacy while he makes his call.
He’s making prank calls

YES!!! 😀
*checks to see if it’s April 1st already*
April Fools!
Close enough, right?
You would think, in a comic about a Victorian steampunk mummy who’s also a princess who moonlights as spring-heel batwoman alongside her faithful undead chickadee companion and the grumpy bearded ghost of a treasure hunter and who possesses a cursed amulet with the spirit of Anubis that enables her to judge the souls of the dead with the help of a hippogator, resurrect and ride bareback the undead replica fossil of a ptersaur named Jabberwocky, and transplant the soul of a freshly killed man into the Iron Giant that nothing would surprise me anymore.
And then you release pages like this.
You took the words right out of my mouth–or you would have if I had thought of anything as cool as what you just said.
Keeping mum on this reveal was difficult because I’ve been looking forward to reaching this point in the story for months. Hehe – there’s more where this came from: some funny, some downright frightening. Just you wait. 😉
My giggles echo throughout the house. The incorrigible corgi!
😀 These next few pages are LOL worthy.
I had the weirdest dream last night. I dreamt that I was checking the new I-Mummy page, and it had Jane’s new dog talking on the phone.
Oh, well. I’m awake now. Time to actually go see the new page.
Oh….
OK, I have to admit I never saw that coming!
Those sneaky Canadians…
CANADIANS!
*fist shaking in anger*
