That first panel almost looks like a loving embrace, if you don’t spend too much time looking at it.
He’s like an excited puppy, getting to meet new people for the first time. And then bite them.

I tried blurring 1/2 of his face to better show what she’s seeing, but it looked bad. So we all get to be horrified by witnessing those gums in all their glory.
So it doesn’t so much leave a bite as it does a really gross hickey?
