Vol 3, Page 8 – Gotcha!
Production Notes
“Tag! You’re it.”
I keep telling myself to cut down on the rendering so these pages don’t take so long to finish, but I can’t quit the habit. Besides, I’m proud of this one. That last panel relies heavily on 3D models to get the proportions right, but oddly the second to last panel does not.
3D “Steam Lorry” model credit to AFMD.
For this page I tried out a free mobile drawing tool called MediBang Paint. Parts of the interface take some practice to get used to, and I couldn’t get the comic panel “material” to work on my phone. But, for sketching out ideas in the field it’s proven to be very handy.
Can’t wait for the next page?
Vote for I, Mummy to see a preview!
So Jane has faster-than-human running speed? And no one has gotten around to inventing steampunk doorlocks? ^^
Oh, wow! The effects on those snow-spraying, spinning tires are wonderful.
or teleportation? Maybe teleportation
Jane can move pretty fast, when she needs to. Add to that Wrenn’s zig-zagging through town in the snow slowing her down, and a little creative license for effect. 😉
Alright, now we’re cooking with gas!
Wait, how DID she get there so quickly? I have the feeling we’re about to find out…
Oh, Jane, did you fix your jumpy-leggy-thinguies?
Alas, if only Webb’s artificial hand had greater response times, things might’ve been a different story…
The whole chapter has been especially great with depicting motion and energy. You’ve gotten scarily good at that.
Eeeee! Thank you.
I watched the truck scenes from Duel (1971) to get in the mood for the speeding vehicle shots. 😀
