Somehow I’m not so sure this guy is just gonna give the amulet to her. But hey, now would be a great time for her bird to swoop in and snatch the thing while it’s out in the open.
For some reason this scene comes to mind:
Evelyn: You know, nasty little fellows such as yourself always get their comeuppance.
Beni: They do?
—The Mummy (1999)
Is it necessary for Jane to actually touch the amulet to draw sustenance from it? I fear her negotiating technique of demanding compliance may prove ….. inadequate.
Yup, she can recharge slowly if she’s near the necklace. It’s power decreases logarithmically over distance. So, touching it, or even better wearing it, is most expedient.
not just a corrupt cop, not just a scoundrel, he’s a jerk to boot.
🙂 BTW, did you collect your comment prize on the previous page? That was great!
And unless the “good” sheriff is put in his place (and soon), things will get even worse for Jane, with her best future being an indentured servant of a corrupt militarized police force.
She could always get a job as a museum exhibit.
Methinks the choice of a flying dinosaur may have been a bit of forward thinking…
Except that it left her more exhausted.
