Original Script
Shots of Jane talking to other people in the street as she eats all her pies, pantomiming what Madam Simza looks like. Shots various people saying: Never heard of her. Nope. Sorry. Jane looks dejected. APPLE SELLER Points down the street. But, she might be at the rally.
Ruby! Toivo! Kitty under the table cloth!
Jane seems to be getting her share of complimentary food during her search, at least. Even if she’s not getting any closer to her prey. Or is she? What would Madame Simza be doing at a rally?
Since no one seems to know who Simza is, if she is in the area it might be easier to spot her in a crowd.
Gah, Toivo and Ruby look so good as street vendors! Now I want to see a team-up. And I love her baby!
Thanks so much for the cameo, Andy!
Panel 3-that face looks familiar. Did you use a photograph?
And a rally? Oh no, Jane, don’t do it. If this is some anti-monarchist anarchist rally thing, it’s going to have teleovideo coverage for sure. The last thing Jane needs is more publicity, and especially this kind.
“So, Angel-may I call you Angel? How long have you held this treasonist, anti-monarchial hatred for all that is good and orderly in our beloved freedom loving system of fair government, bought with the blood, sweat, and tears of honest citizens? Do you poison kittens or just drown them?”
That 3rd panel is based off an old B&W photo of a street vendor. It might be a famous image, but I’d never seen it before.
The establishment wouldn’t stand for any subversive rallies, only government sanctioned celebrations of the great West American Empire. And I’m sure those kittens did something to deserve their fate.
It is always amusing to hear a teenager trying to describe anyone over 30. 🙂
I like the page format, and am especially fond of the fellow seeming to point across the panel border. You keep me entertained on a regular basis. 🙂
A man who is comfortable wearing a pink bunny eye-patch-monocle can accomplish anything.
Awesome cameos, but best of all, the cat in the first panel! Knocking around an apple, just to watch it roll. Even in this world of dark magic and dark secrets, cats are still cats.
Someday scientists will discover that cats are the only fixed points in the universe. This discovery will lead to great advances in space exploration. And cats will still be unimpressed.
I failed at guess the guest stars.
That’s ok. There will be more opportunities soon.
Love the cameos, and especially that surprisingly fabulous eyepatch. I doubt Jane will find who she’s looking for, though–the lady’s probably halfway to Timbuktu by now. Never stay close to the house you conned.
Ha, I hid a Chroma doll in the page I inked yesterday. But, it won’t be live for many moons. Two moons to be precise. Jane’s adventures are only just beginning, so yeah. Stuff happens.
Aw yiss. Subject M is very happy to be involved.
He’s a very popular toy, in this world. Inspiring boot leg knockoffs sold by street vendors.
😀 cute idea on the cameos. Now, when does the head smacking begin?
