And I thought Sheriff Nickenberry was an irredeemably despicable dog dropping! She’s enjoying herself immensely here, deny it though she might.
Undersheriff Wrenn seems to be auditioning for the top slot. Watch your back, Sheriff.
That’s probably why the Sheriff hasn’t told Wrenn everything, as we’ll see on the next page. Talented evil underlings are hard to find. Soon as you turn your back they try to overthrow the boss.
Wrenn is hitting all the evil villain bullet points right now.
“I’m the best at what I do, and what I do isn’t very nice,” Bub.
I’m trying to image how things could be worse for Jane, but barring being entirely inanimate (give it time…), I doubt the odds could possibly be any more against her.
If Jabberwocky can, in fact fly and wasn’t galumphing simply because there’s no good place for take-off in the streets–what with all the clotheslines and pipes in the way–then now would be a very good time for that oversized condor to swoop in and rescue its master.
Come to think of it, even if that isn’t the case, Jabberwocky’s still out there somewhere, isn’t it? And the chickadee, too. Jane might be in serious trouble, but she does have a couple of allies out there that can’t just be offed by the police for treason. Hmm…
Things can always get worse. I’m afraid it’s going to get darker before the light. I’d love to respond to your theories but you’d find a way to figure it all out. It’s really hard to surprise you (and Delta and Charlie). So, I’m gonna keep quiet on this one, even though I really really wanna blab. 🙂
Pretty sure she can’t drown, but Ms. monologue there doesn’t know that.
There is the danger of being nibbled to bits by trout and crayfish if she were stuck on the bottom for a long time. 😀
Yeah, but I’ve got the feeling that the amulet would heal all that damage given enough time anyways.
What amulet? 😉 It’s still M.I.A.
So, Jane is about to be more undead, if that is even possible. And Lewis cannot be improving… Things are looking rather grim now.
Oh, I can’t believe I didn’t have I, Mummy on my links page. Mistake corrected.
Yikes, I hadn’t updated the links page in a while either. Thanks for the reminder. Mistake corrected.
