Vol 3, Page 26 – I UNDERSTAND
UPDATE: Next page will be out Nov 21st. I need some time off. Sorry.
A most exciting (and messy) tea party! The flag JC is waving is X or “XRAY”, which means “Stop your intentions and watch for my signal.”
Leave a comment below and I’ll assign your own signal flag.
I did wonder why he pointed at the tea with Finland’s flag. 🙂
Your flag is “X” the flag of Finland. 😀
Mechnoman did about as well as I do at that task–impressive. ^^
Your flag is both “D” AND “V”.
That’s……remarkably accurate. 🙂
“Z” looks like a HazMat sign. 🙂
Sam, your signal flag is “Z”. Need a lift? 😉
does mechanism think with a Babbage engine? hydraulics? vacuum tubes?
It’s really a mechanical Turk. Shh!
Seriously though, like the flying contraptions in this story it’s some as-yet undiscovered technology that seems to work as much on wishful thinking as sound physics. An electric babbage engine would be the closest historical analogue. The robot is more complicated than the barber shop automatons in the previous volume, but not sapient.
You get flag “A” 😀
I noticed the flag in today’s comic looks like a triangle. Are there triangle and square versions of these flags? Are the meanings different depending on the shape?
Why must you ask the hard questions?! 😀
Here’s the sum of my limited knowledge: A-Z signal flags are square. There are triangular pennant signals as well, but I didn’t bother to look them all up. I made JC’s flag triangular because it’s kind of the official shape of this finctional Pacific Northwest empire, a local white Trillium flower.
Your flag is “K”.
Any tea party that involves riot shields is a good party!
Xtreme Tea!
Your assigned signal flag is “P” for pink.
The next thing we hear from mechanoman is: Exterminate!, Exterminate! Fear the Dal…err the Mech’s.
Just for that your flag is “J” 😀
I’d say that’s a decent result. There’s some tea in that cup. The flag system is a fantastic idea, by the way. Have I mentioned how crazy good you are at world building?
Thanks, Marius. Good thing they sacrificed tea instead of something like … Whiskey.
Hey, for a first try, it’s not bad. He did, in fact, get tea in the cup and you never told him not to spill it. You gotta be real specific with these robot-types, man.
They’re lucky he didn’t simply crush the teapot into the cup. Robots are like evil genies in that way, semantically dangerous. 😀 “Bravo”
That’s still pretty impressive for an artificial life form’s first fine motor skills test.
Genius is never appreciated. 😀
Your signal flag is “Y”.
