Page 16 – Grumble Grumble
Sometimes, when something doesn’t look right and online photo references aren’t helping I’m not above begging fellow coffee cafe patrons to model, “I said no whip!”
Yep, this page was sketched around Christmas time. Now my secret is out.
The first draft of this book showed Jane “making new friends” at school. Unfortunately, those scenes had to be cut. I leave it up to your imagination what that was like.
Original Script
MOM {Sigh} We will have to pull Jane out of school for a time. Just when she was making new friends. Jane scowls and stomps upstairs. At the top of the stairs she’s shocked to see a ghost in the hallway. JANE Aaahhh! GHOST Huh, what’s wrong?
Just as well. High school is full of horrors far beyond any Jane would face in the corrupt monarchist government or the underworld of Egyptian mythology.
Such as (shudder) cafeteria lunches.
So the mummy is startled and horrified by a ghost? This confrontation simply DRIPS with irony. 😀
Maybe she thinks he’s come to judge HER? (Ok, not really)
Oh come on, Jane, this isn’t the scariest thing you’ve seen. Heck, it’s probably not even the scariest thing you’ve seen in the last five hours.
Yeah, seeing that news anchor man take off his toupee was definitely more traumatizing.
The poor kid just can’t catch a break. I think she can tough her way through it!
Heh, heh, he ha ha MWAHAHAHAHA. …Ahem. I’m sure everything will be fine. 🙂
The ghost at the stairway actually made me jump. I’m such a goober! XD
That, or I’m such a great storyteller.
Nope, you’re a goober. I’m a goober. Goobers unite!
